Blah!

What a wonderful morning. Not! It started when I could not sleep very well at all last night. When my husbands alarm went off at 5:00, it woke me up which it usually does not. I tried to go back to sleep, but I could not. I got up shortly after he left. About 5:45. I had breakfast, petted the rats, and did a little knitting. I was still very tired, so at 7:30 I layed back down on the couch. I just got up a bit ago. Now I think I feel worse. I should have just stayed up. Oh well. At least this afternoon will be fun. Cheryl and Betsy are coming over to knit. Woo Hoo! I like getting together to knit.

Last night and this morning, I did some training for the knitting olympics. I decided to make two pair of socks for the olympics. One is going to be jaywalkers which should be very straight forward if I just follow the directions. The other is going to be a pair of mosaic socks. I have never attempted mosaic knitting, and the instructions said it was for expert or advanced knitters. Well the olympics are all about challenging yourself, so I decided to go for it. I thought I would give it a try last night with the yarn I am going to use, so I have an idea of what I am doing. I had to rip it out 3-4 times, but then I got it. But not until after I found a mistake in the pattern. (This is where I am proud of myself) The pattern has both written and charted directions. I chose the written, because I find that easier. All was going fine until I hit row 9. I read the directions, and reread them, but they did not make sense. My sample was not working out. Finally I figured out that the pattern is a 14 st repeat, but this line gave a 13 st repeat. I looked at the chart and the written directions, and figured out the missing part. Yeah! I did it. I am getting better at this knitting thing. Once I got past that, it was pretty simple. You just have to follow the directions very carefully. I think the socks will turn out beautiful. I think I may do some training today by working on the Jaywalker pattern so I get guage and all.

In other news, I QUIT!! My kids are driving me bonkers and I want to quit being the referee. My son has decided he should backtalk about everything. My daughter is another story. Oh my I think I will be bald before they are grown up. (Not grey, cause miss clarol takes care of that!). So now they are separated in their own rooms. They fight when they are together, and cry when I separate them. Aaaarrrrggghhhh! Well I am off to get dressed and make some sweet tea for today. Have a nice day.

Oh! You didn't mention you were having SWEET TEA for knitting today! That would have sealed it!!! Hee hee, just kidding. We are going to the movies, etc. Yesterday was my day to have had it with the kids. It was a LONG day. Have fun stitching and tell everybody I said HELLO!

I hear you with the kids fighting. With me, it is grey hair. As I often point out to my son, I found my first grey hair the day I brought him home from the hospital.
