Skating is not the sport for my family

"Sigh" Yesterday's skating trip did not go so well. I stepped onto the rink and fell flat on my bum. Today I am sore as heck and have a bruised elbow. My hubby fell down and bruised his knee. He has a nice little bump. The most injured award goes to my son though. He came off the rink and fell landing on his right ankle. He started crying "get it off get it off", referring to the rollerblade he was wearing. He was crying and putting up quite a fuss. He is 12 and not usually prone to crying like this. Well after the skate was off and we waited a few minutes, his ankle began to swell. We decided we had better take him to the ER. Well after stopping at the grocery and dropping my hubby and daughter at home my son and I headed to the ER expecting a long wait. We were only there for an hour! My son looks to have broken one of the growth plates that younger kids have on his ankle. The ER Dr. said it is very difficult to tell so they were going to treat it as a fracture. Now my son has a splint and is on crutches. He has an appointment Friday with his regular Dr. and at that time it will be determined whether he has to see an ortho Dr. It is possible that it is just a bad sprain. But if it is broken, it is very important to make sure it heals properly. He is doing ok today. He just really needs practice on his crutches. I told my daughter hah you were the only one not hurt. She said "no my feelings were hurt because we had to leave the skate ring so soon". Yes folks we were there for maybe 20 minutes when this all happened. We have decided maybe another sport would be better for our family. LOL! In other news: there is none. Nothing going on here. I was reading magazines and eating animal cookies most of today. After I post this, I have to vacuum and iron a uniform. I think I will then knit till I have to pick the kids up. Oh well what are ya gonna do huh?
